CALL TO PUBLISHERS

Submissions are now being accepted for the fourth annual Ânskohk Aboriginal Literature Festival Book Awards.

The Saskatchewan Native Theatre Company (SNTC) is pleased to announce that plans for the 2007 Ânskohk Aboriginal Literature Festival are in full swing. While many authors and presenters have already been confirmed for the festival program there are still openings to be filled. We welcome any inquiries or expressions of interest from Aboriginal authors to be considered as part of this year’s festival program.

The 2007 Ânskohk Aboriginal Literature Festival will take place October 16th to 20th in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and will feature a variety of workshops, panel presentations, author readings and the Aboriginal Book Awards and Gala Banquet. We are once again pleased to have McNally Robinson and the Saskatoon Public Library as the sponsors of the McNally Robinson Aboriginal Book of the Year and Aboriginal Fiction Book of the Year awards respectively.  This year’s award categories also include Aboriginal Poetry Book of the Year and Aboriginal Children’s Book of the Year. These awards will be presented at a gala banquet held in association with the literature festival.

Submissions for the Ânskohk Aboriginal Literature Festival Book Awards are currently being accepted. Award criteria and entry forms are attached. Deadline for submissions is Friday, September 7.

Watch for information coming soon regarding festival details including schedule of events.

Inquiries regarding the Aboriginal Book Awards or author participation/presentations can be made by contacting Deneen Gudjonson at (306) 933-2262 or operations@sntc.ca
