Dear Crossing Lines poets,

This message is going out to all of you who live in Ontario and Quebec. I
want to give you what I have so far re: the Toronto launch, and to take an
initial survey so that I can start getting an idea how many poets would
like to read that afternoon. Then I’ll confer with publisher Maureen Whyte, my
co-editor Mick Burrs, and George and Trudi Down, who are doing publicity
and will be at the book tables.

As announced in my message last week, the event will be at The Revival, 783
College St., east of Ossington, from 2:00 to 4:00 on Sunday, April 27.
Invitations will be printed, and I plan on sending out an electronic flyer
as well. There will be finger food and a cash bar.

Those of you who are coming will be able to pick up your two complimentary
copies, and purchase additional copies at a 40% discount; i.e., for $12.00.
(There will be a separate book table for the authors.) If you can’t come,
let me know and I’ll make sure your two copies are mailed to you.

Those of you who are familiar with book launches will understand that they
are social events and celebrations as much as they are occasions for
readings by the authors. Moreover, with so many expected to be on hand, it
may not be possible for every poet to read. Maureen Whyte and I believe it
is fair to give preference, first, to those who will be coming from
farthest away.

Please let me know, then, whether or not you plan on coming to the launch,
and if you are coming, whether you wish to read. After I’ve heard from
everyone, I’ll have more for you about the event.
Thanks,

Allan
P.S. I welcome ideas from anyone who would like to organize and participate
in other events to celebrate the book. I’ll keep everybody informed as
things develop.
