FAQ:
1) Where does the money raised from our poetry contest go?
The Canadian Poetry Association poetry contest fees go toward website hosting/managing site, publication of our magazine POEMATA, office supplies and AGM festival. All our events are free.
Poetry Contest Awards are as follows:
ie: 1st prize $100, 2nd $50, and 3rd $25
(with the stated understanding if not enough entries received, prize monies will be adjusted according, $5/poem ~ 3 poems for $10, 100 poems needed to be submitted, something along those lines, so in theory, anyway from $330 - $500 would be generated, at a minimum, $175 for prize amounts, the rest for fund raising, publication, website hosting, postal box, etc…)
If you have any questions please email our poetry coordinator, Brian, at brianstevens@live.ca .
